North Stradbroke Island is as the name implies the north island of the two islands that make up the Stradbroke group located in beautiful Moreton Bay off the Queensland Coast. This north island is one of the largest sand islands in the world and has beautiful pristine beaches with white sand and crystal clear waters where you can swim, fish, surf or watch the passing parade of whales as they make their way up the coast to the Great Barrier Reef and then return with their young calves with Point Lookout being one of the most popular vantage points. Apart from the whales you can also see turtles, dolphins and manta rays with the northern tip of the island at North Gorge being a good spot.
